Call for Abstracts Now Closed

Nota: Les services offerts lors de l'Assemblée conjointe seront en anglais et en français, toutefois, tout aspect du programme scientifique sera exclusivement en anglais.

Authors are invited to submit an abstract in English to be considered for oral or poster presentation at the Joint Assembly. The deadline for submission of abstracts is January 23, 2009. Authors are asked to submit abstracts using the online abstract submission link.

Instructions for Submission of Abstracts

Abstracts may be submitted via Internet only. There is no paper form to complete or mail. Faxed and mailed submissions will not be considered.
PLEASE NOTE: ONLY ABSTRACTS SUBMITTED IN THE CORRECT FORMAT, AS OUTLINED BELOW WILL BE CONSIDERED.

When preparing to submit their abstract, authors should have on hand the complete contact information for the Presenting Author (the Corresponding Author should be the Presenting Author).

BEFORE SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT, YOU MUST REVIEW THE FOLLOWING ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

  1. Abstracts must conform to the following outline:
    1. Abstract Title (as it will appear in the Assembly Program and Proceedings)
    2. Authors and Institutions, as shown in the template provided (under Quick links- Abstract Submission Template)
    3. Abstract body
  2. The abstract body is limited to 250 words which must include a brief introduction, methods, results, discussion and conclusion. Please submit text only. References, tables, figures or any other graphics are not permitted. Special characters and formatting are not compatible with the online submission process. Please replace Greek letters by the actual word, e.g. alpha, beta, gamma, delta etc...
    Abstracts must be submitted in MS Word (PC) format using the template provided.
  3. Brand names may not be used in abstract titles and are limited to one reference within the body.
  4. Limit of ten authors per abstract.
  5. All fields in the online abstract submission process must be completed. Please print a copy of the summary for your records prior to clicking the submit button.
  6. Do not resubmit your abstract for any reason other than a notified submission error. If you do not receive a confirmation email with a receipt number that your abstract was successfully uploaded, please contact the Assembly Management Office.

Abstract Review

All abstracts will be reviewed by the convenors and the Scientific Program Committee. Notice of acceptance will be sent to the corresponding author by email on or before March 15, 2009. Abstracts will be accepted for oral or poster presentation, or rejected, at the discretion of the Scientific Program Committee on the recommendation of the convenors. Please do not call regarding the status of your abstract.

Note to Authors

Accepted abstracts will be posted on the Assembly Web site and distributed at the Assembly.

Submission of an abstract constitutes the commitment of at least one author to register for the Assembly and present their work either orally or through a poster. Expenses associated with preparation and submission are the responsibility of the author/presenter.

In order to be part of the IAMAS-IAPSO-IACS 2009 Program, the author/presenter must register by April 30, 2009 and must submit payment at that time.

Agreement/Disclaimer

In submitting an abstract, you certify the following:

  1. The abstract is an original contribution.
  2. You hereby grant permission on behalf of both yourself and all other authors of the abstract for the Assembly Organizers to publish it in the Assembly Proceedings, the Assembly Website and any other Assembly-related publication deemed appropriate by Assembly Organizers.
  3. You further agree that if your abstract is accepted, you will be present at the Assembly to present your research.

Abstracts are to be submitted via the Assembly Website (only abstracts submitted via the electronic submission site will be accepted for review).

Your works will be published as submitted. The organizers do not accept any responsibility regarding the accuracy of the content of the works.

The organizers reserve the right to reject any abstract at their sole discretion.
