Welcome to the MOCA-09 media page. This Assembly takes place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal from July 19th to 29th, 2009.

The theme for this Assembly is "Our Warming Planet". It gathers three major scientific associations known as:

  • IAMAS (The International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences);
  • IAPSO (The International Association for the Physical Sciences of the Oceans);
  • IACS (The International Association of Cryospheric Sciences).

These three Associations are part of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG), an organization that will mark its 90th anniversary on July 28th.

More than 1400 oral presentations and 600 posters will be offered to the participants who attend this Joint Assembly.

The scientific presentations will explore first-hand information on climate science and other research emanating from the international meteorological, oceanographic and cryospheric communities.

Although accessible only registered participants, this Joint Assembly will be open to accredited Media. In addition to having access to all scientific sessions, media will also be able to arrange interviews in person or on the telephone with researchers.
